History of Chuadanga Judiciary:
In ancient times Kushtia district was part of Nadia district. Formerly Chuadanga was a subdivision of the greater Kushtia district. On 1 February 1984, Chuadanga Sub-division was declared abolished. On 26 February of the same year, Chuadanga became a district. In the same continuity, the judicial proceedings of Chuadanga district were conducted in Kushtia district. At that time there was a circuit court in Chuadanga sub-division. Mr. Md. Ali Azgar Khan joined as the first District Judge of Chuadanga district in 1984 after Chuadanga made its debut as an independent district. At that time he was simultaneously serving as Circuit Judge of Chuadanga and Meherpur districts. Mr. Md. Jalaluddin served as the first sub-judge of Chuadanga district. Mr. Dipraman Sarkar was in charge at that time as Munsef. So far 19 District and Sessions Judges have served in Chuadanga Judiciary.
Chuadanga District Judge Court Building:
Prior to 1984, the only Munsef Court adjacent to Jeevannagar Highway was a 1-storied red building and the District Judge's Court function was conducted in a single-storied building located on the west side of the present District Commissioner's office. At that time there was a beautiful rest room with a tiled canopy for the rest of the witnesses who came from far and wide beside the Red Building. The present building of the District Judge's Court was auspiciously inaugurated on 31st Shraban 1396 Bangabd, 15th August 1989 AD by Honorable Justice Mr. Mohammad Abdul Quddus Chowdhury.
Tribunal for Prevention of Violence against Women and Children:
In the year 2018, the activities of the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal started in Chuadanga district. Mr. Md. Zia Haider served as the first judge of the tribunal. So far 2 judges have served the tribunal.
Chief Judicial Magistrate:
On 01/11/2007, Mr. S.A.M. Shahjamal Mashreki joined the said department as the Chief Judicial Magistrate after the separation of the Judiciary. So far, a total of 13 judges have served as Chief Judicial Magistrates in the judiciary.
Chuadanga District Bar Association:
Traditional Chuadanga District Bar Association was established in 1897 AD. Yunus Ali and Abu Ahmad Afzalur Rashid (Badal Barrister), learned members of the Bar Association, were members of the Constitution Drafting Committee of Bangladesh in 1972. A total of 08 members of Chuadanga District Lawyers Association participated directly in the battle in the Great War of Liberation.
